Members of the Kernow Branch of the Celtic League bearing the Celtic League flag were warmly welcomed by Androw Hawke of the Cornish Nationalist Party (CNP), the Mayor of Bodmin, Cllr. Lance Kennedy and other Councillors, the Reverend Canon Graham Minors and Bards of Gorseth Kernow at the annual Thomas Flamank Commemoration in Bodmin on Saturday 27th June, 2015.

FRANCE RESPECT FOR CULTURAL VALUES - NOT ALWAYS!

The visit to Mann of a strong French media group from both TV and print media ahead of the Inter Celtic festival in Lorient seems to indicate that at least superficially France is more at ease with its minority cultures. Although unlike the other large Celtic countries which have TV language stations such as TG4, S4C and BBC Alba the TV presence sent from Brittany to Mann was provided by TR3 as Brittany still has no dedicated TV language channel

TAOISEACH RESPONDS ON KINGSMILL FILES

The Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, has said he will honour a promise (made to relatives of those who died in the Kingsmill massacre in N. Ireland in January 1976) that Garda files on the attack will be released to a Coroner in Belfast currently conducting an inquest into the events. Indeed his Office indicates the process has already begun.

Patagonia: Lost Welsh Anthem Found After 140 Years!

PATAGONIA : LOST WELSH ANTHEM FOUND AFTER 140 YEARS!

A long forgotten text of the Welsh National anthem has been rediscovered in the archives of the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth.

The anthem was apparently written over 140 years ago for settlers planning to move to the Welsh community established in Patagonia in Argentina, now the Chubut Province of that country, and its text reflects the slightly different nature of the new land to which emigrants were going.
