KERNOW:HERITAGE SITES MEETING

Last year, the Cornish Branch of the Celtic League hosted and chaired a meeting between three senior representatives of English Heritage and members of the Celtic League, of 'Save Penwith Moors', of the Cornish Ancient Sites Protection Network (CASPN) and Gorseth Kernow.

English Heritage (EH) manage several historic and ancient sites in Cornwall on behalf of the Duchy of Cornwall, the ultimate owner of many of Cornwall's castles and other sites.

The Celtic League has written to the Minister for Economic Development asking about the steps taken to monitor conditions for crew members on merchant vessels which are registered in the Isle of Man.

The Manx Shipping Registry was the subject of a resolution adopted at the AGM of the Celtic League held in Dublin earlier this year.

The Irish Naval Service vessel LÉ Niamh left Cork this weekend for the Mediterranean where she will take over the migrant rescue role already being undertaken in that area by the LÉ Eithne.

Since being deployed to the Mediterranean as part of a strengthened EU search and rescue response the Irish Naval service has rescued almost 3,500 migrants.

NCA ON THE CASE OF NAMA NI PORTFOLIO

The NCA is on the case, but where are the Manx Police or for that matter the Manx media?

The United Kingdom National Crime Agency (NCA) is to undertake an inquiry into the NAMA property portfolio allegations following claims made last week in Dail Éireann that £7million pound connected to sales of a one and a quarter billion pound batch of NAMA properties in the North had ended up in a Manx bank account.

BRETON LANGUAGE EQUALITY CAMPAIGN TARGETS SNCF

Activists have been peacefully targeting railway stations in Breizh calling for equality in the usage and display of the Breton language.

There has been considerable upset over signage which displays the French language in large letters with Breton written in smaller letters beneath.
