Ratchyn TT Mannin – Isle of Man TT Races 2014

Ratchyn TT Mannin. Y boayl share sy theihll son ratchal raaidey (Isle of Man TT Races. The best place in the world for road racing). This first week in June sees the world’s greatest motorcycle road race take place. The Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) races began in 1907. The International Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) Race was first held on the Island in 1907. The Snaefell Mountain Course was first used in 1911. The 37¾ mile long course rises to 1,385ft (422 metres) above sea level at its highest point.  There is nothing like the Isle of Man TT Races. No other motorcycle race is held on such a challenging Mountain Course (Manx Gaelic: Coorse y Clieau) with its series of bends, bumps, jumps, stone walls, manhole covers and telegraph poles. Skill, bravery and concentration are needed, with speeds approaching 200mph, but the rewards for winning on the world famous course are like no other. TT racing captures the imagination in a way no other race can. The sheer spectacle and uniqueness of the event ensures thousands of fans flock to the Island every May and June. So to all of those visiting the Island. Welcome to the Isle of Man (Manx Gaelic: Failt erriu dys Mannin) and good luck to all those taking part in this year’s race.
