Cornish Language - Great News for Schools in Cornwall!

Kevren - Cornish Language News from MAGA

As part of the Taves an Tir project a new education and resources pack has been produced and is available free of charge to every school in Cornwall.

The aim of Taves an Tir was to encourage people to find out more about Cornish Language Place-Names and Family Names around them.

The education pack focuses on various aspects of the Cornwall’s language, history and culture and provides a great introduction to the subject through a variety of resources and activities. The pack has a wealth of resources including simple Cornish phrases, songs, dances, recipes and even a play. There are sections on the Cornish language its history and future. The pack shows the link between mining in Cornwall and the language and how Cornish words like wheal, bal and kibble lived on as mining terms here in Cornwall and across the globe.
